Did April Showers Bring May Flowers?
Be sure not to ruin a beautiful day by digging unsafely. Small projects like planting flowers and veggies require contacting 811 before you start digging. Utility lines can be buried just inches below the surface. Once you call 811 or visit call811.com, your utilities will be marked out within 3 business days. Then you can work on your new garden safely.
Notice Utility Flags in Your Neighborhood or on Your Property?
Flags are used to identify underground lines to show you where to avoid when working on your outside projects. Yellow flags are used to mark the natural gas lines (learn more here). The yellow flags include a QR code if you're interested in finding out the type of work being done in the area. After you scan, you'll be directed to the One Call Search & Status form. Choose your county and enter your street name to find local information.

True or False?
If you're planting flowers or doing other shallow digging projects, you don't need to call 811.
False: Utilites can be buried just inches below the surface. The only way to know for sure that you won't hit any important pipelines is to call 811 or visit call811.com before starting any digging project.
